Instagram Hotspots in Havana, Cuba
Oh, Havana. The way you lure people in, and make them fall in love with all your imperfections is insane. Havana is a feeling. The bold colours, the boring flavours, the hidden streets. Something new around every corner. The lack of internet, that’s surprisingly refreshing. And don’t forget the rum. Oh, the rum. Going to Cuba? You’re in for a treat. Here you’ll find the best Instagram Hotspots in Havana.

Where to stay
There are two types of accomadation to choose from in Cuba. You have the hotels on the one hand, and the casa particulars on the other. While the hotels offer some kind of luxury – don’t expect anything too out of this world – the best way (in my opinion) to get to know the country is to stay in a casa particular. It’s kind of like AirBnB, run by locals. Most of them offer a huge breakfast, with eggs, toast, fruit, baked goods and maybe even some fresh juice. Don’t skip it. You’re going to need the energy. My favourite casa in Havana: Casa Randy. Fanny, Randy’s wife, will shower you with essentials tips on the city and the county in general. They even have a cool rooftop terrace (which isn’t really a terrace…).

More of a hotel kind of person? Check out Hotel Sevilla. A perfect location, very close to Havana Vieja (old Havana), with an amazing pink courtyard. Also a great place to go, just for drinks. Beware of the band. They will sell you their CD.

Adventures in Havana Vieja
Tourism is a big part of Cuba’s income. So, expect people. A lot of them. Everywhere. Getting the shot will definitely take some tries, because the people here don’t care about your Instagram account. They have their own to worry about. Taking a picture with a local can be fun, just don’t forget to tip them some CUC. This is their job, after all.

El Capitolio
Want to rent one of those vintage cars (just so you know: it’s expensive)? This is the place to be. Here you’ll get your fix of colourful houses, beautiful buildings and sun. A lot of sun. Bring shades, bring a hat and most definitely bring water. Liters. You won’t have to spend too much time to find some gems here.

Find your zen at La Rosa de Ortega
Need to recharge after the chaos that is Havana? Get your things, get a cab and race towards La Rosa de Ortega. This place is not cheap, but well worth any penny. The rooms are to die for and it has an amazing pool that not a lot of guests use (private pool, anyone?). It even has a gym. Sort of. Check out the view over Havana City at night. You’ve seen nothing like it. Don’t forget mosquito repellent though.
